Identifying Target Audience

 Target Audience:

  • Age:  
The target age demographic of our audience is 35+ this is because the company is designed to supply a which would appeal to the particular age group as it is a fairly contemporary movement which they grew up around/with. It also appeals to the age group because the company works almost solely through social media and its official website which older generations would be less likely to access because they are digital migrants.
  • Genders:
The product would appeal to all genders because we don't appeal to a gender through denotations. However under the stereotypical expectations of the patriarchy where men should be emotionally void and not feminine people would say that gardening is a mans job but a woman's hobby. However from the experience with my mums clients in tends to be more female clients. 
  • Pamco:
The social grade of the target audience would be between A, B, C1, C2 as the products that Stone Cross Gardening Service sell are a luxury/extra as at the end of the day there are much cheaper (but nastier) alternatives that poorer people would be more likely to buy such as pesticides and herbicides and weed killers opposed to pulling up the weeds manually and not killing everything in the garden. 
  • Location:
The main target audience particularly of the poster is around where the business is located. This will be in and around Holmfirth and thus also includes Burnlee, Arrundee, Scholes, Hepworth etc. However the audio/visual promo video, and social media campaign have a much larger reach as they will span multiple platforms/ multiple media types and thus targets a mass audience.

  • Interests: 
The interests of our target audience would be highly varied as we are offering a service opposed to a product. Meaning it is difficult to create averages or make predictions about what they do in their spare time. However if someone has an interest in buying our gardening service then they must have at least a minor interest in horticulture and gardening. 
                                
  •  Lifestyle:
George is a 40 year old man who lives out in Grenoside. He has a medium income job meaning he is in the C1/C2 bracket of social class. His hobbies include biking, jogging and uploading to his small reaction YouTube channel. This means that alongside his job he doesn't have much time in his busy schedule to tend to his garden even though he wants to. He has always had the dream to have a kitchen garden and is inspired by programmes such as Gardener's World and Spring watch where they show off other peoples gardens who either optimise space and efficiency or are a positive force towards the environment.
